DOMAIN NAME - An Internet Protocol address represented in words e.g - thewitchez.com
ISP - InternetService Provider. A company that provides dial-up access and hosting to the internet.
HOSTING - This is the process whereby your website files are stored on a 'server' conputer that is permanently connected to the Internet. To fin out more,
NAVIGATION - Areas on a web page that are labelled, or change, when you move cursor over them - and take you to a new page when you click the mouse. There is a typical example above.
URL - Uniform Resource Locator. Think of it as a web page name e.g. www.thewitchez.com
HTML - Hypertext Markup Language. The language in which web pages are written, it contacins information on the page's structure, appearance and content.
JAVASCRIPT - A programming language that, when embedded into web pages, helps to create special effects, interactive games, security passwords etc.
SEARCH ENGINE - A software programme e.g. www.google.com that trawls the web - usually via pages that have been submitted to it - and by reacting to the keywords on your pages, sends your audience to your site.
KEYWORD - A word or phrase, expressing what your audience is looking for. So if, for example, your site is about Sanding Floors, the keywords might be Floor, Sanding, Wooden Floor, etc....
MAINTENANCE - In the context of the Internet, this is completely essential. It includes the monitoring of Search Engine rankings, Text Changes, Price Changes, Small or big additions to the site.
E-COMMERCE - Electroninc Commerce. The integration of communications, data managemant and security capabilities to allow organisations and consumers to exhange information related to the sale of goods and services.
